The Access+ range of games is specifically tailored to support the remediation of cognitive impairment.
Games are a tool to stimulate abilities and help prioritise impressions of joy and shared play.
The popular games Dixit and Stella - Dixit Universe are now available in Access+! With adapted materials and rules, everyone can join in the fun. Choose your level of difficulty, your preferred rules, and let the game begin! Use the voting cards to match the three picture cards that best illustrate the word. It's a fun way to practice mental imagery, speech and speaking skills and have a great time at the same time.
The games in the Access+ range are tried and tested in practice, with their benefits confirmed by health and entertainment professionals. They excel in accessibility and ease of play. They stimulate a range of cognitive functions and encourage social interaction in a positive, calming environment.
Executive and cognitive function:
Short-term and working memory: The rules of Dixit Access+ require the player to process temporary information. Players must first store a word from a word card in their short-term memory and then look at the pictures on the cards to find the association. During this time, the player retains the word in their working memory by repeating it in their head or visualizing it in their short-term memory until they decide on an association.
Imagination and visual-spatial processing: players use imagination and their short-term visual memory to temporarily hold observed images in their minds and sometimes to mentally manipulate them to make comparisons. Planning their visual search in advance will help players make associations more quickly.
Language features:
Lexical access: players use their lexical access to the words that come to mind for the images to mentally describe the association.
Vocabulary: The word bank offered in Dixit Access+ stimulates vocabulary. Word cards can be used to work on lexical areas (e.g. family = gathering, love, sharing, together, child, generation, parent, adult, youth, etc.). They can also be used to stimulate the concepts of synonyms and antonyms (e.g., waking = hatching/flowering, waking up, etc. waking = sleepy, sleep, drowsy, etc.).
Word sorts: word and symbol cards can be used to work with word sorts (common nouns and adjectives). They can also be turned into adverbs in order to work on this word category (e.g. mysterious = mysteriously, precious = preciously, secret = secretly, calm = calmly, etc.).
Internal Dialogue: When looking for associations, it is recommended that players use their internal dialogue and repeat the word. This cognitive function helps short-term verbal memory.
By buying this game, you will contribute 35 CZK to the NAUTIS Foundation, which helps people with autism and their families.
Christophe Debien - Hospital Psychiatrist:
Playing may not heal, but it undoubtedly calms, strengthens and develops. This is probably why games are one of the many facilitation tools we use every day in our work with patients, whether to stimulate poor memory, improve impaired attention and projection skills, or revive motor skills.
The new Access+ range of games not only introduces games suitable for carers and those they care for in a fun way. It brings so much more: it enables games to be used as part of care by adapting and changing them so that everyone - families, therapists and patients - can develop together with each other.
